如果你的描述总是“He is nice.  He is smart.  He is good.”,是不是听起来很乏味?

(Personality Traits)

“Nice”

例:“She's incredibly kind,  always offering help to strangers.”
例:“He's a very friendly guy,  makes everyone feel welcome.”
例:“My aunt is very generous;  she always brings us thoughtful gifts.”
例:“He's so considerate,  he remembered I don't like spicy food and ordered something else for me.”
例:“She's a very sociable  person,  loves parties and meeting new people.”
例:“He’s quite outgoing and isn’t afraid to strike up a conversation with anyone.”
例:“She was a bit shy at first,  but opened up once she got comfortable.”
例:“He’s quite reserved,  doesn’t say much but is a  great  listener.”
例:“She’s very ambitious and is determined to reach the top of her field.”
例:“He’s incredibly determined;  he’ll keep trying until he succeeds.”
例:“Despite the challenges,  she remains optimistic about the future.”
例:“He tends to be pessimistic,  always expecting the worst.”
例:“He’s  a really humorous person,  always  making us laugh.”
例:“Her witty remarks always lighten the mood.”
例:“Teaching young children requires a lot of patience.”
例:“He gets impatient easily when things don’t go his way.”

或者,“She’s very considerate.”

(Physical Appearance)

例:“He’s not conventionally handsome,  but he has a very attractive smile.”
  •
例:“She’s a good-looking woman with striking features.”
例:“The bride looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress.”
例:“He has a charming personality that draws people to him.”
例:“She always  dresses elegantly and carries herself with grace.”
例:“He’s very athletic and plays several sports.”
例:“She’s naturally slim and has a very graceful figure.”
例:“The bodyguard was tall and  well-built.”
例:“She has striking blue eyes that really stand out.”
例:“He looks remarkably youthful for his age.”

如果想更委婉,可以描述:“He’s a bit on the heavier side.”

(Abilities & Intelligence)

“Smart”

例:“She’s a highly intelligent student,  always asking insightful questions.”
例:“That was a clever solution to the problem!”
例:“He’s a bright young man with a promising future.”
例:“His mind is still very sharp,  even at 80.”
例:“He’s very knowledgeable about ancient history.”
例:“She’s very resourceful,  always finding ways to get things done with limited resources.”
例:“She’s a very  talented musician.”
例:“He’s a highly skilled craftsman.”
例:“She’s a competent manager,  very organized and efficient.”
例:“The design team came up with  some incredibly creative ideas.”

比如,与其说“He is intelligent”,不如说“He quickly grasped the complex concept” (他很快理解了这个复杂的概念),或者“He came up with an innovative approach” (他提出了一个创新的方法)。

“My English teacher  is  very nice.  She is smart and she teaches well.  I like her because she is funny.”

“My English teacher,  Ms.  Evans,  is truly exceptional.  She has a wonderfully engaging teaching style that makes even complex grammar points easy to understand.  She's incredibly patient,  always  taking the time to explain things thoroughly and never making anyone feel silly for asking questions.  Beyond her expertise,  she has a great sense of humor and often uses witty  anecdotes to  illustrate vocabulary,  which makes the  lessons  so much more memorable.  You can tell she's genuinely passionate about teaching and really cares about her students' progress.”

“teaches well”被具体描述为“engaging teaching style”和“explain things thoroughly”。“funny”升级为“great sense of humor”和“witty anecdotes”。
  • 个人感受: “makes the lessons so much more  memorable”表达了学习者从老师那里获得的积极体验。

(Adverb + Adjective)

  • Extremely intelligent (极其聪明)
  • Remarkably kind (非常善良)
  • Incredibly determined (难以置信地有决心)
  • Surprisingly modest (出乎意料地谦虚)
  • Seemingly calm (表面上平静)

举例: “He presented the findings with an extremely clear and logical approach.”

(Phrases &  Idioms)

  • A heart of gold: 例:“She’s always helping out.  She truly has a heart of gold.”
例:“Despite his success,  he remains very down-to-earth.”
  • A people person: 形容善于与人打交道。例:“As a salesperson,  you need to be a real people person.”
例:“She’s a quick learner;  she picked up the new software in just a few days.”
  • Has a good head on their shoulders: 例:“Don’t worry about him making bad decisions;  he’s got a good  head on his shoulders.”

(Describe Actions,  Not Just Definitions)

  • Instead of: “He is generous.”
  • Try: “He always volunteers to  pay for everyone’s meal and often donates to charity.”
  • Instead of: “She is creative.”
  • Try: “She came up with a unique marketing campaign that significantly boosted our sales.”

(Using Contrast)

  • “Although he looks  quite  serious,  he's actually very warm and approachable.”
  • “She's not the most outspoken person in the room,  but her insights are always the most  valuable.”

例如: “My friend,  Sarah,  is incredibly resourceful.  Whenever we have a problem,  she’s always the one who comes up with a clever solution.  She’s also very sociable and loves organizing get-togethers.  Despite being so busy,  she’s always considerate  of others’ feelings.”

例如: “I really admire Elon Musk.  He's known for being extremely ambitious,  constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible with companies like SpaceX and Tesla.  He's also incredibly determined;  he doesn’t seem to be fazed by setbacks.  For instance,  after early rocket failures,  he didn't give up but continued to innovate,  showing he truly  has a good head on his shoulders when it comes to engineering challenges.”

  • 过度使用“very”: “very nice”,  “very smart”。
  • 描述不具体: 只说“He’s talented”,而不说“He’s talented at playing the piano”或者“He showed his talent by composing a beautiful melody”。
